China: State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) Administrative Measures on the Management of the List of Entities with Serious Illegal and Dishonest Conduct in Market Regulation entered into force

On 1 September 2021, the Administrative Measures on the Management of the List of Entities with Serious Illegal and Dishonest Conduct in Market Regulation (Order No. 44 of SAMR) were implemented by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR). The Measures set out the conditions under which entities committing serious illegal conduct can be included in the list of serious illegal and dishonest conduct by market regulation departments. Entities can be listed for, among other things, infringing on consumers' rights to dignity and personal information protection. Listed entities can be subject to additional measures, such as increased inspections and restrictions on eligibility for preferential policies.
