Description

Federal Communications Commission announced success of Operation Clean Carts pertaining to illegal online sale of Chinese-made devices

On 10 October 2025, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced the success of Operation Clean Carts, a national security effort to stop the illegal online sale of Chinese-made devices on its Covered List. The initiative applied to large e-commerce platforms selling or hosting listings for unauthorised Huawei, ZTE, Dahua, and Hikvision equipment. Working with the FCC’s Council on National Security, platforms removed millions of listings and agreed to adopt new screening tools, educate third-party sellers, and coordinate with the FCC to prevent future violations.
