European Commission requested information from Snapchat on its age verification systems and measures to prevent minors from accessing illegal products

On 10 October 2025, the European Commission requested information from Snapchat regarding its measures to protect minors as required under the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the guidelines on the protection of minors. The Commission requested information from Snapchat on the mechanisms it uses to prevent children under 13 from accessing its services, in line with its terms of service. Snapchat has also to provide details on the measures in place to restrict the sale of illegal products to minors, such as vapes or drugs.
