European Union: European Union and Indonesia concluded negotiations on Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, including data protection regulation

On 23 September 2025, the European Union (EU) and Indonesia concluded negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The Agreement recognises personal data protection and privacy as fundamental rights and preserves the Parties’ autonomy to regulate under their respective domestic frameworks.
