Brazil: Provisional Measure No. 1319 establishing implementation date for Law on protection of children and adolescents in digital environments entered into force

On 18 September 2025, the Provisional Measure No. 1319 entered into force. The Provisional Measure states that Law No. 15211 on the protection of children and adolescents in digital environments will now come into force six months after the date of its publication. The Law establishes a regulatory framework for the protection of children and introduces rules on content moderation and age verification, setting obligations for online platforms and electronic games to ensure a safer digital space. The Law also contains provisions on data protection and design requirements, and requires companies to appoint a legal representative in the country.
