United States of America: Federal Trade Commission issued proposed orders against Click Profit for alleged misrepresentation of online sales opportunities

Description

Federal Trade Commission issued proposed orders against Click Profit for alleged misrepresentation of online sales opportunities

On 25 August 2025, the Federal Trade Commission issued proposed orders against Click Profit, alleging that the company misrepresented potential earnings from an AI-driven online retail business model on platforms such as Amazon. The orders would permanently bar the defendants from participating in the sales, marketing, or operation of any business opportunity. They also prohibit making false claims regarding potential earnings, affiliations with other businesses, or the use of artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the defendants are banned from restricting consumers from sharing or reviewing truthful information about their business practices. The proposed orders include a monetary judgment of USD 13.6 million against individual defendants Emslie, McGeoghean, and Holton, and USD 7.3 million against Masri. The orders are pending approval by the District Court Judge for the Southern District of Florida.
