On 1 February 2026, the National Information Security Standardisation Technical Committee (TC260) Information Security Standardisation Technical Committee Timestamp Specification for Public Key Infrastructure (GB/T 20520-2025) enters into force. It replaces the earlier GB/T 20520-2006 version. The standard defines the technical specifications for time-stamping, to be used in scenarios such as online transactions, electronic medical records, and online bidding. It aims to reduce the complexity and risk associated with the development, evaluation, procurement, and deployment of timestamp systems.
