China: National Information Security Standardisation Technical Committee issued Information Security Standardisation Technical Committee Timestamp Specification for Public Key Infrastructure (GB/T 20520-2025)

On 1 August 2025, the National Information Security Standardisation Technical Committee (TC260) issued the Information Security Standardisation Technical Committee Timestamp Specification for Public Key Infrastructure (GB/T 20520-2025). The standard will enter into force on 1 February 2026 and fully replaces the earlier GB/T 20520-2006 version. The standard defines the technical specifications for time-stamping, to be used in scenarios such as online transactions, electronic medical records, and online bidding. It aims to reduce the complexity and risk associated with the development, evaluation, procurement, and deployment of timestamp systems.
