Personal Information Protection Commission opened consultation on draft partial amendment to Notification on the Combination and External Transfer of Pseudonymised Data

On 17 July 2025, the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) opened a public consultation on the draft partial amendment to the Notification on the Combination and External Transfer of Pseudonymised Data until 6 August 2025. The proposed amendment was issued pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 35343, which revised the Enforcement Decree of the Personal Information Protection Act and entered into force on 1 July 2025. The draft aims to clarify the re-designation criteria for data combination specialised institutions under Article 29(2)4 of the Enforcement Decree, update the annex setting out designation standards, and align references to Article 66 of the Act regarding publication or enforcement orders.
