On 6 August 2025, the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) closes its public consultation, which had been open since 17 July 2025, on the draft partial amendment to the Notification on the Combination and External Transfer of Pseudonymised Data (PIPC Notification No. 2025-52). The proposed amendment was issued pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 35343, which revised the Enforcement Decree of the Personal Information Protection Act and entered into force on 1 July 2025. The draft aims to clarify the re-designation criteria for data combination specialised institutions under Article 29(2)4 of the Enforcement Decree, update the annex setting out designation standards, and align references to Article 66 of the Act regarding publication or enforcement orders.
