Issued Proposal for European standardisation regulation

On 2 February 2022, the European Commission published the proposal for European standardisation regulation . The proposed amendment would alter the European standardisation process to ensure that decision-making authority lies exclusively with representatives of Member State national standardisation authorities, rather than with other potential stakeholders. The proposed amendment is part of the Commissions wider Strategy on Standardisation published on 2 February 2022 in which it has announced its intent to, among other things, take a more active role concerning the standardisation of computer chips and data.
