European Union: European Commission announces receipt of Zalando/About You concentration notification

On 28 May 2025, the European Commission (EC) announced the prior notification of a concentration ZALANDO of ABOUT YOU (Case M.11854) after receiving the notification on 22 May 2025. The concentration involves Zalando SE acquiring sole control of About You Holding SE through a public bid announced on 11 December 2024. Zalando is a publicly traded international online retailer based in Berlin, which is active across Europe and specialises in shoes, fashion, and beauty products, while About You is a German fashion online retailer based in Hamburg. The EC conducted a preliminary examination and found that the transaction could fall within the scope of the Merger Regulation. The EC invited interested third parties to submit observations on the proposed concentration within 10 days following the date of publication.
