National Privacy Commission opened consultation on guidelines on accountability of influencers and content creators

On 18 June 2025, the National Privacy Commission (NPC) opened a consultation on the guidelines on the Accountability of Influencers and Content Creators until 27 June 2025. Pursuant to the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), the NPC is drafting these guidelines to address the processing of personal data by influencers and content creators. The consultation seeks information on areas such as types of personal data processed, legal basis, consent and transparency, specific risks, challenges, requests for deletion, safeguards, and the harmonisation of freedom of speech with data privacy rights.
