National Privacy Commission closes consultation on guidelines on accountability of influencers and content creators

On 27 June 2025, the National Privacy Commission (NPC) closes its consultation on the guidelines on accountability of influencers and content creators. The consultation sought input from stakeholders on the processing of personal data by influencers and content creators, including the types of personal data processed, legal basis for processing, consent and transparency mechanisms, specific risks, challenges encountered, requests for deletion, existing safeguards, awareness of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), and suggestions on harmonising freedom of expression with data privacy rights.
