Competition Authority issued ruling in investigation into Teknosa over alleged cartel in electronic household appliances sector (Case No. 25-07/177-M(2))

On 28 May 2025, the Turkish Competition Board concluded an investigation into Teknosa İç ve Dış Tic. AŞ (Teknosa) over an alleged cartel in the electronic household appliance sector. The investigation examined whether Teknosa, along with Vatan Bilgisayar and Media Markt Turkey, had engaged in indirect information exchange in breach of Article 4 of the Law on the Protection of Competition the prohibits agreements, concerted practices, and decisions of associations of undertakings that prevent, restrict, or distort competition in a market. The Board found that Teknosa participated in a hub-and-spoke cartel and imposed a fine of TRY 17.15 million based on its 2023 gross revenue, applying a 25% reduction under the settlement mechanism.
