China: Cyberspace Administration opened consultation on Administrative Measures for Generative Artificial Intelligence Services including design requirement

On 11 April 2023, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) opened a consultation on the draft Administrative Measures for Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Services, till 10 May 2023. The measures require that while conducting data labelling for generative AI development, providers must establish clear and practical labelling rules, assess and verify labelling quality, train personnel on legal compliance, and supervise their work. Additionally, they must label generated content including images and videos in line with the Regulations on the Management of Deep Synthesis of Internet Information Services.
