China: State Administration for Market Regulation opened consultation on draft regulations on the supervision and management of live e-commerce including cybersecurity regulation

On 10 June 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation opened the public consultation on the draft regulations on the supervision and management of live e-commerce, until 10 July 2025. The regulation mandates that livestream e-commerce platform operators implement network and data security management systems. It was highlighted that market supervision departments will oversee compliance with cybersecurity provisions, including penalties for violations under the Cybersecurity Law of the People's Republic of China.
