Apple Distribution International filed appeal following ruling over alleged failure to delete online content classified as illegal

On 26 December 2024, Apple Distribution International filed an appeal against a ruling by the Tagansky District Court of Moscow in Case No. 05-3397/2024, which had imposed a fine of RUB 3.6 million on 5 November 2024 for a violation of Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offences. The court found that Apple Distribution International failed to remove prohibited content that is subject to mandatory deletion under Russian law. This provision applies to internet resource owners who do not comply with content takedown obligations. The appeal was transferred to the appellate court on 1 April 2025.
