Ministry of Commerce suspended dual-use export control order on 16 US companies for 90 days

On 14 May 2025, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced the suspension of export control measures imposed on 16 US entities under Announcement No. 21 of 2025. The suspension, valid for 90 days, follows the consensus reached during recent China–US high-level economic and trade talks. The original measures prohibited the export of dual-use items to the listed entities. During the suspension period, exporters may submit applications to the Ministry of Commerce for authorisation to export such items. Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the Regulations on the Administration of Export Control of Dual-Use Items. The suspension is set to expire on 12 August 2025.
