On 8 July 2025, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) closes its public comment period on the proposed extension of Information Collection 3038–0061, titled “Regulation 16.02—Daily Trade and Supporting Data Reports.” The related notice, published in the Federal Register (Vol. 90, No. 89) on 9 May 2025, invited feedback on the continued requirement for Reporting Markets, including Designated Contract Markets, to submit transaction-level trade data and related order information to the CFTC. The Commission estimated that 20 respondents collectively incur an annual burden of 10'000 hours to comply with the daily reporting obligations. The consultation solicited comments on the necessity of the collection, the accuracy of the burden estimate, and potential ways to improve the quality and efficiency of the reporting process.
