United States of America: Commodity Futures Trading Commission opened consultation on extension of daily trade data reporting obligations under Regulation 16.02 (OMB Control No. 3038-0061)

On 9 May 2025, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) opened a public comment period on the proposed extension of Information Collection 3038–0061, titled “Regulation 16.02—Daily Trade and Supporting Data Reports”, with submissions accepted until 8 July 2025. The collection requires Reporting Markets, including Designated Contract Markets, to submit transaction-level trade data and related order information to the CFTC. This information aims to support the Commission’s regulatory responsibilities, including market surveillance, the prevention of manipulative practices, and the maintenance of market integrity. The CFTC estimates that 20 respondents each incur an average annual burden of 500 hours, resulting in a total estimated burden of 10'000 hours, with submissions made on a daily basis.
