United States of America: Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission close consultation on inquiry on unfair and anticompetitive practices in live ticketing

On 7 July 2025, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) conclude the public consultation phase of their inquiry into anti-competitive practices in the live concert and entertainment ticketing sector, collecting feedback from various stakeholders on issues such as unfair pricing, scalping, and the enforcement of competition laws. The inquiry aims to gather information that will inform potential regulations or legislation designed to protect consumers and restore competitive markets, as directed by Presidential Executive Order 14254.
