Indonesia: Ministry of Communications and Digital adopted order freezing Electronic System Provider Registration Certificate for Worldcoin and WorldID services

Description

Ministry of Communications and Digital adopted order freezing Electronic System Provider Registration Certificate for Worldcoin and WorldID services

On 4 May 2025, the Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Digital adopted an order freezing the Electronic System Provider Registration Certificate (TDPSE) for Worldcoin and WorldID services. The order applies to digital identity and cryptocurrency-related services linked to Worldcoin's local operators, PT. Terang Bulan Abadi and PT. Sandina Abadi Nusantara. The order cited public reports and initial findings indicating that PT. Terang Bulan Abadi was not registered as a digital service provider, and Worldcoin services were operating under a TDPSE issued to a different legal entity, in breach of Government Regulation No. 71/2019. It was highlighted that suspension serves as a preventive measure while both companies are required to provide clarifications, with further regulatory action expected based on the investigation’s outcome.
