Description

National Commission on Informatics and Liberty opened consultation on draft recommendation on collecting multi-device consent

On 24 April 2025, the National Commission on Informatics and Liberty (CNIL) opened a public consultation on its draft recommendation on collecting multi-device consent, also referred to as cross-device consent. The recommendation aims to guide stakeholders on how to implement solutions that ensure user consent is valid across various devices linked to a single user account, in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements. The recommendation builds upon previous CNIL guidance and is particularly focused on authenticated environments where users are logged into an account, allowing their choices on one device to be applied across all connected devices.
