European Commission submitted proposal for a Council decision authorising to sign EU-Singapore Digital Trade Agreement (DTA)

On 31 January 2025, the European Commission issued a proposal for a Council Decision on the signing, on behalf of the Union, of the Digital Trade Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Singapore. The decision would authorise the Commission to sign the agreement on behalf of the EU. The Agreement establishes rules for digital trade between the countries and aims to facilitate cross-border data flows and digitally enabled trade in goods and services.
