Description

Opened consultation by NTIA on Bipartisan Infrastructure Law introducing public procurement measures

A consultation on the public procurement measures in digital infrastructure contained in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (former American Jobs Plan and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act) is opened by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) on 5 January 2022. The NTIA is responsible for distributing $48 billion to improve high-speed broadband connection in all of America. The objectives are to build high-speed broadband infrastructure and promote price transparency and competition among internet providers. Currently, 35% of all Americans lack access to broadband "at minimally acceptable speeds". The consultation aims to obtain the input of stakeholders, States, Territories, SubGrantees and citizens and will be closed on 4 February 2022.
