National Commission for Informatics and Liberties announced sandbox initiative to support artificial intelligence projects

On 22 November 2023, the National Commission for Informatics and Liberties (CNIL) announced the selection of eight innovative artificial intelligence (AI) projects aimed at enhancing public services. Four of these projects will receive personalised support over several months as part of CNIL's sandbox initiative, which provides legal and technical expertise to foster AI development that respects privacy and data protection. The selected projects focus on various areas such as improving public administration, employment services, water consumption management, and video surveillance. Additionally, four other projects will receive legal and technical support from the CNIL due to their significant potential for data protection.
