Description

National Cybersecurity Standardisation Technical Committee adopted guideline on technical requirements for minor protection mode in mobile internet (TC260-PG-20253A)

On 2 April 2025, the National Cybersecurity Standardisation Technical Committee adopted the guideline on technical requirements for minor protection mode in mobile internet. The guideline applies to mobile internet application providers, mobile smart device manufacturers, and application distribution platforms, offering a framework for regulatory authorities and third-party assessments. It sets out technical requirements, including one-click activation and parental controls on devices, age-based app filtering, restrictions on installations and purchases, and safeguards for minors’ personal data. Mobile applications must provide age-appropriate content, enforce social interaction controls, and include screen-time limits, while application stores must categorise apps by age and implement parental restrictions. The guideline also mandates cross-platform protection, ensuring that settings synchronise across devices and applications. It is now in effect, guiding implementation by relevant stakeholders.
