Competition Authority announced investigation into Apple over alleged pricing strategy violations under Law on Protection of Competition

On 27 March 2025, the Turkish Competition Authority announced an investigation into Apple over potential violations of Article 4 of Law No. 4054 on the Protection of Competition. The Article prohibits agreements and concerted practices between undertakings and decisions and practices of associations of undertakings that limit competition. The investigation focuses on allegations that Apple interfered with resellers’ sales prices. It examines whether Apple collaborated with Support Informatics Project and Service Solutions Industry and Foreign Trade Incorporation, Easycep Informatics and Trade Incorporation, Getmobile Technology and HB Informatics Technologies Industry and Trade Incorporation to coordinate buyback prices for Apple-branded products. The investigation follows findings from on-site inspections conducted during a preliminary review.
