United Kingdom: ICO opens consultation on investigatory, regulatory, and enforcement powers

On 20 December 2021, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent authority for information rights, published and opened a public consultation on three draft documents laying out policies for its regulatory actions, namely the Regulatory Action Policy, the Statutory Guidance on our Regulatory Action, and the Statutory Guidance on our PECR Powers. The three documents lay out updated policies on the scope of the ICO's powers under various applicable pieces of legislation. The public consultation will close on 24 March 2022.
