On 22 July 2022, the United Kingdom Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) closed the consultation on the market power of Google in mobile browsers and the App Store's restrictions on cloud gaming, until 22 July 2022. The consultation focuses on the supply of online gaming services for the video game consoles sold by Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft. Particularly, the CMA focused on market investigation into Google's business practices concerning opt-out options, auto-renewal and the terms and conditions for online gaming contracts. The consultation followed a study which found that Google has an effective duopoly on mobile ecosystems.
