Competition Authority fined Delivery Hero’s platform Foodora for consumer protection violations

On 14 February 2025, the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) fined Foodora, a food delivery service platform, HUF 35 million for misleading consumers in a 2023 campaign that promised a HUF 2'000 discount and free delivery without clearly stating it only applied to orders over HUF 6'000. The company also failed to properly inform consumers about a system usage fee. Additionally, Foodora delayed the GVH's proceedings, resulting in an extra HUF 20 million procedural fine, which has been paid.
