On 22 March 2021, the Regulation on Promotion by Telecommunication Operators (No. 001/R/CA-MCA/RURA/016) was published in the Official Gazette. The regulation includes provisions to prevent anti-competitive behaviour among telecommunication operators. Promotions must not involve predatory pricing, discriminatory practices, or unrealistic price comparisons. The Regulatory Authority has the power to cancel or restrict promotions that are deemed anti-competitive. Non-compliance can result in penalties, including fines and the cessation of promotional activities. The decision of the Regulatory Board is binding unless overruled by a competent court.
