Description

European Commission announced establishment of specialised group dedicated to creating an EU Code of Conduct on age-appropriate design aligning with Digital Services Act

On 13 July 2023, the European Commission held the first meeting of a special group dedicated to creating the EU Code of Conduct on age-appropriate design (BIK Code), an initiative under the BIK+ strategy. The group, comprising industry, civil society, and academic representatives, aims to develop guidelines ensuring children's online privacy, safety, and security. The Code will align with the Digital Services Act (DSA), Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD), and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The group's tasks include gathering resources, drafting the Code, and setting up a monitoring system.
