On 30 November 2024, the National Communications Authority (NCA) closes the public consultation for the proposed regulatory framework for Electronic Communications (Submarine Carrier) Service Authorisation. Following this, the NCA will compile and review all submissions and publish a consolidated report with any revisions. The framework, open for input since 1 November 2024, aims to regulate consortium members of submarine cables landing in Ghana. It includes conditions like regulatory fees, cybersecurity compliance, and technical standards adherence. All submissions will be published on the NCA's website, with intellectual property rights transferring to the NCA for regulatory purposes.
