On 20 December 2024, the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) accepted commitments from Ticketmaster to allow competition for the resale of tickets through alternative platforms. This closes its investigation into Ticketmaster's practices regarding the resale of mobile tickets. The investigation, which focused on potential barriers for consumers wishing to resell their mobile tickets on platforms other than Ticketmaster, led to Ticketmaster committing to remove these obstacles. The commitment ensures that consumers can choose their preferred resale platform freely, promoting competition among platforms and benefiting consumers by providing more choices for ticket resale. Ticketmaster will also make the transfer functionality within its system available for tickets resold on other platforms, addressing the ACM's concerns about competition and consumer rights in the e-commerce sector. The ACM will monitor compliance with these commitments.
