Cabinet adopted order establishing National AI Office
On 28 August 2024, the Cabinet approved the formation of the National AI Office (NAIO), designating it as the central authority for the governance of artificial intelligence. The NAIO will set strategic directions, guide policymaking, drive research and development, and address regulatory concerns related to AI, with the goal of positioning Malaysia as a leading regional hub.
