Implemented Ministerial Order No. 001/MINICT/2024 including age verification requirement

On 23 January 2024, Ministerial Order No. 001/MINICT/24, which provides for the protection of children in the context of online activities, came into force. The order requires digital content providers to implement mechanisms to prevent children from accessing content, sites, products, or interactive services that are not age-appropriate. This encompasses the utilisation of filters and digital tools to evaluate the suitability of online materials in accordance with age categories. Furthermore, Internet service providers are required to restrict access to harmful content, including sexual or violent material, through technical measures such as parental controls, PIN codes or age verification tools.
