On 7 November 2024, the Indonesia Competition Commission (KPPU) closed its investigation into Shopee and Nusantara Ekspres Kilat (Shopee Express) after both companies adhered to a behavioural Integrity Pact, which included commitments addressing violations identified. The investigation involved alleged violations of Indonesia's competition laws, specifically concerning discriminatory practices in Shopee’s courier service algorithms favouring its own delivery partner. During a June 2024 hearing, Shopee and its partner committed to amending these practices and signed an Integrity Pact in July to formalise their compliance with KPPU’s requirements. After the 90-day monitoring period, KPPU confirmed that Shopee implemented the commitments, ensuring sellers and buyers can choose services independently. Hence, KPPU announced the termination of its investigation.
