Description

Opened consultation on Draft Delegated Regulation on data access under the Digital Services Act

On 29 October 2024, the European Commission published a draft Delegated Regulation on data access under the Digital Services Act (DSA) until 26 November 2024. The draft outlines technical requirements and procedures for data sharing by Very Large Online Platforms (VLOPs) and Very Large Online Search Engines (VLOSEs). The draft establishes the DSA data access portal, designed to provide vetted researchers and Digital Services Coordinators with secure, regulated access to platform data, supporting investigations into systemic risks associated with digital services. This draft also specifies the responsibilities of the Commission as the processor for data processing activities within the DSA data access portal. Following the public consultation, the Commission plans to review contributions and finalise the regulation, aiming for adoption in the first quarter of 2025.
