Announced Roskomnadzor lawsuit against Discord over alleged non-compliance with content removal orders

On 2 September 2024, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) filed a lawsuit against Discord Inc. for failure to comply with orders to remove content. The lawsuit alleges that Discord Inc. failed to fulfil its legal obligation to monitor its social network and take measures to restrict access to information, as required by Federal Law No. 149-FZ "On Information, Information Technologies and Protection of Information". In particular, content promoting non-traditional sexual relationships and/or paedophilia or gender transition.
