Adopted Criteria for Digital Assets as Means of Payment
On 3 September 2024, the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) adopted new criteria for digital asset business operators, which take effect on 6 September 2024. Specifically, the updates expand the scope of prohibited uses of digital assets as means of payment, improve access of certain digital asset businesses to Sandbox testing to promote the development of digital financial innovations.
