Adopted Bill expanding definition of sensitive personal information to include neural data (SB 1223)

On 31 August 2024, the Bill expanding definition of sensitive personal information to include neural data (SB 1223) was adopted by the California Assembly. The Bill amends the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) to include the definition of “neural data” as information generated by the measurement of the activity of an individual's central or peripheral nervous systems and not inferred from non-neural information.
