Description

Terminated FCC Broadband Consumer Privacy Rules

The Broadband Consumer Privacy Rules are terminated by a Resolution signed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Vice President of the United States and President of the Senate. In particular, the Resolution declares that the Rules shall have no force or effect. The Rules would have required broadband Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to obtain affirmative “opt-in” consent from consumers to use and share sensitive information and to give the customers the possibility to "opt-out" from the use and share of non-sensitive information.
