China: Announced special campaign Clear and Bright 2024 Summer Internet Environment Improvement for Minors

On 13 July 2024, the Cyberspace Administration of China published the campaign on Clear and Bright 2024 Summer Internet Environment Improvements for Minors, which aims to strengthen the protection of minors on the Internet. The campaign aims to protect children from violent content, such as videos of bullying. Additionally, the campaign aims to remove and block content that diverts traffic to illegal websites, displays pornographic content to minors, or causes physical or mental harm to children. The campaign aims to remove such content from short video and live broadcast platforms, social media platforms and e-commerce platforms.
