On 2 September 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) closes its public consultation on the Digital Technology Industry Law. The law would establish the National Committee for the Promotion of the Digital Technology Industry as the organisation responsible for directing and coordinating the resolution of matters related to cooperation, investment, and the implementation of projects and programs to promote the development of the digital technology industry. The law designates the MIC to issue ethical guidelines for the development, deployment, and application of AI. Furthermore, the MIC provides guidelines on the labelling of digital technology products created by AI. Moreover, the MIC is responsible for issuing technical regulations and mandates the application of international, regional, foreign, and national standards in digital technology industry activities. Finally, the MIC provides guidance on risk level classification and the measures, obligations, and responsibilities to ensure risk mitigation for AI systems according to each level.
