Republic of Korea: Implemented Amended Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information (Law No. 18517) including business registration requirement

On 20 April 2022, the Amended Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, including business registration requirements, was implemented. Under the Amended Act, location information businesses handling personal information are required to register with the Korea Communications Commission if they meet certain requirements, such as being a corporation and having certain physical business facilities.
