United Kingdom: Opened consultation in CMA Merger Inquiry into Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Juniper Networks

On 19 June 2024, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) of the United Kingdom opened a consultation regarding the anticipated acquisition of networking products company Juniper Networks, Inc. by Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company until 3 July 2024. The CMA is set to determine whether the merger could result in a relevant merger situation that may substantially lessen competition within any market or markets in the UK for goods or services related to network hardware and equipment. The CMA will decide by 14 August 2024 whether to initiate a phase 2 investigation.
