Closed Texas AG Lawsuit against Nomad Internet for alleged deceptive trade practices

On 19 June 2024, the Texas Attorney General's (AG) Office announced a settlement in its public lawsuit against Nomad Internet. The lawsuit, initiated due to allegations of deceptive trade practices in the provision of internet services, concluded with Nomad Internet agreeing to pay USD 8 million in monetary relief and USD 2 million in refunds to over 20'000 consumers. The settlement also includes a permanent injunction preventing the Garzas from engaging in the advertisement, sale, or leadership of any telecommunications or wireless data transmission services or equipment without a legitimate agreement with a network or service provider.
