Description

Announced Apple’s action against Commission qualification of iMessage as a number independent interpersonal communications service

On 22 April 2024, Apple filed a case challenging the European Commission's decision to qualify iMessage as a number-independent interpersonal communications service under the Digital Markets Act (DMA). Apple contends that the European Commission misinterpreted and misapplied the relevant regulations, specifically DMA and Directive 2018/1972, and committed material factual errors in its conclusion. Apple also requested the Court to order the Commission to pay the legal costs incurred during this challenge.
